The PTL 10U program is ideal for girls who have played at least one year of organized hockey and are looking to push outside their comfort zone to improve, while having a lot of fun on and off the ice in a team setting.
Our plan* is for at least one on-ice practice per week, along with local travel for competitive games about one weekend per month. We will also offer off-ice training to promote overall athletic health and physical literacy (*subject to COVID-19 scheduling complications)
On the ice, our 10U program will have a strong focus on skill development with coordinated progression training to build a solid foundation in the following areas:
Skating technique with emphasis on body control, edge work, and maximizing efficiency
Thorough instruction of proper mechanics for all aspects of stickhandling, passing, and shooting
Enhancing decision-making with situational play and small area games
We will use various methods and progressions to provide enough repetition while also creating a fun learning environment for every player in our 10U program.
Regular weekly practices will be at ProSkate on Wednesdays at 5:45pm. Additional practices and games will be at IceLand, ProSkate, and/or other local rinks in NJ or PA.
